Steinbach Trailers & RV is growing and seeking an experienced, energetic and customer-focused RV Service Writer to join our team.

The Service Writer is the primary connection between our customers and service technicians. This position is responsible for understanding customer concerns, creating clear and detailed work orders, coordinating repair appointments, communicating estimates and providing timely updates throughout the service process.

The successful candidate will be friendly, highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced dealership environment. Previous service-writing experience is required; experience within an RV, automotive, powersports, agricultural or similar service environment is strongly preferred.

This is a dedicated service-focused position.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet service customers and provide a professional, welcoming experience
• Listen carefully to customer concerns and document them accurately
• Create clear, complete and detailed repair orders for technicians
• Schedule service appointments and help coordinate the daily shop workflow
• Review service history and identify recommended maintenance
• Prepare estimates and obtain customer authorization before work begins

• Communicate repair requirements, timelines and costs clearly to customers
• Provide customers with timely updates throughout the repair process
• Coordinate with technicians regarding diagnosis, repair progress and additional work required
• Work with the parts department to confirm parts availability and expected arrival dates
• Prepare accurate documentation for customer-pay, warranty and insurance repairs
• Review completed work orders for accuracy before invoicing
• Explain completed repairs and charges to customers at the time of pickup
• Maintain accurate customer and vehicle records in the dealership management system
• Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction and address outstanding concerns
• Help maintain an organized and efficient service department

Qualifications

• Previous service-writing or service-advisor experience is required
• RV, automotive, powersports, agricultural or related dealership experience is strongly preferred
• Strong customer-service and communication skills
• Friendly, energetic and professional approach
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organizational, time-management and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple work orders in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to communicate technical information in a clear, customer-friendly manner
• Comfortable working with technicians, customers, parts personnel and management
• Proficient with computers and able to learn dealership-management software
• Basic mechanical or RV knowledge is considered an asset
• Dependable, accountable and committed to following through on customer concerns
